The East Kentwood Match will take place Tuesday, May 1 at East Kentwood. We will keep the same people on the snack schedule for the match.
Parent / Players,
Here's the info for tomorrow's matches at Forest Hills: Who we play: 1st we play Forest Hills Central 2nd we play Forest Hills Northern Where we play: All singles is at FHN High School All doubles is at FHE High School Format: A super-tiebreaker will be played in place of a third set to keep things moving. When to expect it to finish: Honestly, kind of late. It might be starting to get dark when we get home. I'll ask the girls if they want to get dinner on the way home at someplace quick, so maybe send a few dollars along with the girls. We'll just see what the girls want to do though, maybe they will just want to get home. Why we do this each year: Because FHN is the best tennis program in the State and FHC is good too. If we want to continue to be one of West Michigan's elite programs, we have to keep playing West Michigan's elite programs. How we've fared in the past: The last few years we've beaten Central but lost to Northern. Northern graduated 10 of their best 12 players last year, but that does not mean they will be weak. We need to play well. The girls did great today at Grand Haven. We are continuing to improve, communicate well, and play aggressively. Results are posted, and pictures will be soon. Have a good night everyone. Coach Schwallier Lowell faxed over the results of the Lowell invite today. They are located in "2012 Results / Photos" if you are interested in checking it out.
Players/Parents,
Congrats to the Varsity today on their first place finish at the Lowell Invitational! CLICK HERE FOR OUR WRITE-UP IN THE HOLLAND SENTINEL I was pleased with our play, particularly our ability to fight back when we get down in sets. Also, I just want to say thanks to the girls for your positive attitude today and all year long. You have been willing to work hard and do whatever I ask of you. I always see you being polite to me, to your parents, and to each other. And you understand that you can work hard AND have fun at the same time. I love seeing you smile, laugh, and kick butt while doing it! Here's a few highlights from the day: -There were seven teams competing. -We took first place with 47 points. -Grand Rapids Catholic Central was close behind with 44 points. -Six of our eight flights advanced to the finals. -All doubles flights were flight champions. -Once again, parents are stepping up with some seriously good food. Special thanks to the Burns' for bringing all the hot subs for lunch!! Kennidi took a lot of great pictures today, and they are posted in "2012 Results" Lowell must fax results before I can post them on the website, but I'll try to find a way to get them posted when they arrive. Girls, please be ready for Monday's match against East Kentwood. The OK-Red season is about to begin and there is only one outcome I'm going to be satisfied with!!! Enjoy the rest of your weekend, Coach Schwallier DATE: Saturday, April 14, 2012 DEPARTURE TIME: Be at the Transportation Office on Lakewood BEFORE 6:40AM. START TIME: 8:30 a.m. COMPETING SCHOOLS: Catholic Central, Lowell, Loy Norrix, Muskegon Catholic Central, Petoskey, Unity Christian, West Ottawa, Zeeland West LOCATION: Lowell High School & Forest Hills Eastern High School Courts . FORMAT: Eight-flight bracket with a consolation bracket playing out to 7th place. Three matches for each flight. AWARDS: Championship Trophy, Runner-up Trophy, and medals to flight champions and runners-up at each flight. EXPECTATION: To win the Championship Trophy and earn many flight championship medals. INCLEMENT WEATHER: In the event of bad weather, Lowell will call coaches to cancel by 6:00 a.m. If we don't get the call, we head out there. HOW LONG WILL EVEN LAST: Hard to say. Assuming perfect weather, probably a little before dinner, we get home a little after dinner. These things really vary depending on how long matches take and how the weather cooperates, so whatever I say will probably end up being wrong. The dates of our two duels have been changed this week. These change ONLY APPLY TO VARSITY. The new schedule for the week is as follows:
Tuesday: Practice till 5:00 Wednesday: Zeeland East (Home) Thursday: Forest Hills Eastern (Home) Friday: Practice till 4:30 Saturday: Lowell Invitational Hi Jamesohn and Reagan,
