Information for girls who prefer to play Junior Varsity:
- Tennis is a no-cut sport...everyone will get to participate, and all players will play in several matches.
- Your position on the team is based on ability, and not what grade you are in.
- You will be able to give input about who your doubles partner is, but the final decision on doubles partners will be made by Coach Gaul.
- Seniors and Juniors are allowed to play on Junior Varsity
Information for girls who want to try out for VARSITY:
- If you want to tryout for varsity, you need to CLICK HERE so I can include you in the challenge schedule.
- Tryouts will be held indoors the first week from 5:00-7:00am at MVP Athletic Club in Holland, or from 3-6pm after school at the High School Courts, depending on the weather. This is the only time all season that we will practice before school:)
- The purpose of Week 1 is to determine which 14 girls will play on the varsity team. Most girls will know what team they are on after day 2 or 3. All players should know by Friday.
- Challenge match results are the main factor used to determine who makes the varsity team, but ultimately the coach decides which players give us the greatest chance to win a Conference and Regional title, and compete at the State Finals. Almost all players will tryout as doubles players.
