Coaches Comments-Another competitive day with some close score matches that could have gone either way and also some BONUS TENNIS and EXTENDED PLAYING time with 2nd matches for some of our players since Jenison had 33 kids versus our 23.which continue to show me GREAT EFFORT by you guys and WANTING to try to get better at tennis which is most IMPORTANT to me as your coach!Congrats to the 2 flights that won their matches ,BUT for EVERYONE,no matter whether you win or lose, make this your PRIORITY LIST-ENJOYING the sport of tennis,WANTING to get BETTER EVERY TIME you pick up a tennis racket and tennis ball, and having GREAT SPORTSMANSHIP who you play against-Example Number 1-Jamesohn Bader took a direct hit to his nose and it started to bleed like crazy.Jenison gave him the time he needed for it to stop bleeding and allowed Reagan and him to continue their match.Example Number 2-3rd Doubles Team-With them trailing 5-6 in a 7 point tiebreaker in the second set that was tied 6-6,Jenison hit a "borderline shot" that looked to just graze or barely miss the side courtline. With Jon and Mike calling it in meant they still were alive at 6-6,and still had a chance to win by 2,but after they both talked it over, they both told the Jenison players it was OUT.The coach looked at me in SHOCK and said,"They called that out.Wow! That is GREAT SPORTSMANSHIP by your boys.Losing what WASN'T most IMPORTANT to Jon and Mike but to be HONEST WAS.I will end my coaches notes on this.
