Coaches Notes-What a Great Day to play tennis! We had a great mix of sunshine and a nice little breeze to go with it and DRY COURTS to play on!!
First,I want to give a huge THANK YOU!!! to Stu and Carol Fritz for their generosity for getting the VERY NICE shirts for ALL our boys to wear for both Mac Bay and Harbor Light teams.
Now to my comments-I was very pleased how our team played overall today! It was nice to see us battle our opponents hard and not give up even when we were down in a set,and with our 2nd doubles team splitting 2 sets and having to go to a super tiebreaker to determine a winner.Personally,I'm NOT a fan of Super Tiebreakers(but those are the rules),and I would rather play a third full set to determine a winner because it's MORE tennis for both 2nd doubles teams. All 4 boys played extremely hard and all the fans saw a great match with a lot of great shots from both teams! At Varsity and JV Level,it's best of 3 sets;so that's kind of cool in my opinion! But for now just do the best you can,win or lose, and that's all I ask for.
Other than that, keep it your goals to ENJOY TENNIS,WANT TO GET BETTER IN TENNIS,and KEEP CHALLENGING YOURSELF TO PLAY BETTER OPPONENTS TO TRY TO BECOME A BETTER PLAYER EVEN IF IT MEANS LOSING TO START.
**Grand Haven is coming to our place tomorrow(5-3)for a makeup match.***Good luck to all you boys!! See you then.**
