Spring Break is here!

Hi Girls,

Thanks for a great first weeks of the tennis season. I've enjoyed working with all of you a lot. You care, you work so hard, and you are terrifically talented. We've played two of the best teams in West Michigan this week in FHC and EGR. A special shout out to those who earned victories:

Kayla Lebster vs FHC at 2 Singles
Katie Frauenheim vs FHC at 4 Singles
Madison Mitchell and Kacey Westenbroek vs FHC at 2 Doubles
Emily VanDyke and Madison Wollenzier vs EGR at 3 Doubles

One of the best ways to objectively gauge how good you are is to ask yourself who the best people are that you've actually beaten. That's why I love playing good people...it gives you an opportunity to test yourself and improve your answer to the question "how good am I". Sevreal of you did that this season already, and that's a good thing.

Also, a special thanks for the many sincere birthday wishes I received today. Please know that I am very aware of how well you treat me...players and parents. I love being your coach and working with each one of you. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to google how to properly bake a personalized tennis mug!!! Thanks girls, I love it!!!

West Ottawa wins Panther Invitational

Girls, you were phenomenal today. Thanks for all the hard work in the offseason and over the past 4-5 years to make a day like today possible. This is the first time our girls have beaten Holland Christian in at least 10 years. It's enjoyable being around all of you and being your coach.

Parents, thanks for all the great food and for being so much fun to be around all day long. Your support for the players was perfect.

Brian and Mark, thanks so much for your help all day. Brian in particular, a special thanks for all the work you did keeping the tournament flowing smoothly.

Anika, Ryann, and Sam...all three of you were terrific. Every one of you exceeded the expectations of Brian, Mark, and I. You were poised, talented, and ready to go. Lot's of fun watching you compete, so a special thanks to all three of you.

Parent/Player Meeting This Wednesday

Thanks for a good start to the season and for the incredible participation we have this spring. We are going to hold a parent and player meeting this upcoming Wednesday. Here are the details:

Parent / Player Meeting
Wednesday, March 22
6:30 PM
LGI Room in High School North
Players and one Parent must attend.
Bring: $44 for Insurance

Goals of meeting: Discuss team rules/norms, introduce you to the team and the coaches, and to make sure any of your questions are answered going into our new season.
