Another great showing girls.  Some things that have impressed me over the past few days:
  • The quality of your ball striking in practice.  We did a lot of practice on groundstrokes.  Wow were they terrific!
  • I never once had a concern of prom expressed, nor did I sense that ANY of you were less prepared today because of prom.  Every one of you seemed focused on the tennis.
  • The colder weather and wind had little to no effect on your performance.  You did a great job of getting yourself warmed up and ready before you stepped onto court in between rounds.  Because of that, the crummy weather probably gave us a boost if anything.   
I'm looking forward to seeing all of you for practice on Monday.  I hope you enjoy prom tonight, and get some good rest tomorrow so you are ready for another fun week together.  Thanks again for a great day today.  -Coach

Another good win.  Today's shout out goes to the crowd that showed up.  Thanks to all the girls who came up from the middle school and the high school boys who came out to watch the girls.  Fun to see the stands full of spectators.  Thank you Alex Coy for communicating with everyone to get the word out.  

Players, I'm continuing to feel less and less of a need to coach you.  You are playing aggressively and smart.  You are keeping your energy high.  You support your teammates as soon as you step off the court.  Win or lose, you do it right.  Thank you.  Oh, don't forget your 30 minute homework assignment tonight:)  -Coach

Thank you girls.  I was proud to be your coach today.  The best part is seeing you doing it in practice each day and then carrying that over to the matches.  You keep working hard and good things are happening.  You deserve every bit of your success.  I think this photo best sums up why you are having success...you aren't a bunch of individual players, you really are ONE TEAM.

Today was a strong showing for the team.  Everyone played very well and got the results to show for it.  Here are the final team results:

1st Place: West Ottawa 23 Points
2nd Place: Caledonia 14 Points
3rd Place: Mona Shores 10 Points
4th Place: Wayland 1 Point

Today's shout out goes to Anika Sequin for traveling to watch.  We also have a talented group of middle school girls coming up for the next couple years!  I'm looking forward to seeing each of these talented classes progress over the next 4-6 years.  

I've posted some pictures and complete match results HERE if interested.  In any case, have a lot of fun tonight at the Karps.  I'll see you all Monday for our match with Hudsonville.

Hey Girls, I was really impressed today.  Thanks for all the hard work in practice, in warmups, all that stuff.  It really does carry over into the matches.  Looking forward to fun practice tomorrow and Friday getting ready for Caledonia Invite.  Let's see if we can take a trophy home two weeks in a row!

Thanks for a great time this weekend everyone.  You were a lot of fun and I'm always so proud to be coaching you.  I'll post more photos and maybe comment more later, but I'm pretty tired right now...maybe tomorrow:)  Enjoy your day tomorrow and I'll see you Monday.
