John Wooden, my favorite coach, said that you never really know how successful a team is until many years after they leave, when you find out what kind of people all of the players became. If you know Kyle, you know that he is on his way to success. He has recently graduated from Aquinas, has a bright future ahead of him, and he's just a very good person. The Turkey tournament is the largest tournament in West Michigan each year, with over 300 players competing in many divisions. The toughest division is the Mens Open Singles. Kyle Mastellar, a West Ottawa graduate in 2008, was the runner up in that division last weekend. Virtually every player in that draw is a college player, former college player, or a teaching pro at one of the clubs. Kyle was a great player at West Ottawa, and he continued to improve tremendously in his years at Aquinas.
